Motorcycle Insurance

Riding on the open road is something many New Jersey residents enjoy. But whether your motorcycle of choice is a Harley Davidson, Kawasaki, BMW, Yamaha, Suzuki, or Honda, it’s important to protect both your bike and yourself through motorcycle insurance. Accidents happen. So does theft. Donnelly & Sproul protects you from both unfortunate incidents.

What is Motorcycle Insurance?

Motorcycle insurance covers the risk of owning and riding a motorcycle. It includes bodily injury liability coverage and property damage coverage, and can extend to accessories, such as sidecars and trailers. A typcial policy not only cover the motorcycle, but also the driver. Adding a passenger liability rider or premium means that your riding passengers are covered as well.

What Does Motorcycle Insurance Cover?

If you are at fault in a motorcycle accident, you could be held financially and legally responsible for damage or injury caused by the accident. There are two main types of coverages:

  • Bodily Injury Liability Coverage. This component protects you from the financial burden of paying the medical expenses, loss of income, or burial/funeral costs of other people involved in the accident. Note: Bodily injury to another passenger can be applied through an add-on premium or rider.
  • Property Damage Liability Coverage. This important component of your motorcycle insurance policy covers the repair or replacement of another motorist’s vehicle and property.
